You're welcome! :)
Draconisaurus wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2024 5:36 pmHilwo, could you be our guinea pig and find out if it works after installing .NET?
I can confirm (for myself, anyway) that installing .NET worked. I came across a few locations, survived a few dinosaur attacks, and ultimately became a Dilo snack when I got too button-happy with the attack option

Haha that's great! I'm glad it worked. Now we know the solution is to install the latest .NET version. Hmm too bad I didn't include a turn counter to track how long you survive before dying.

Alright! I have worked a few additional days on this text adventure game, and I'm quite pleased. Lots has been added or fixed.
Spoiler: show
It is now possible to win the game.
Interested to know thoughts / comments! This is probably the last version of the game.

Note: as Hilwo discovered, you need .NET installed, probably v8.0 or higher:

Have fun!

Feeling rather ill the past few days, Drac, but I will check this out. Sounds like you made quite a few improvements and have made it more interesting.

There was a considerable amount added. No worries! The program isn't going anywhere.

Thanks. Playing it a bit more myself, and with a little feedback from LtSten, I have updated the previous link with a new link, with some minor fixes.

Drac, I may have a difficult time downloading a 223mb file, but I'll give it a shot tomorrow. My internet sucks. :(

No worries! Hm I wonder what makes it so big.

EDIT: Hmm oh you must be talking about the .NET installation. Yeah I'm sure it has a hefty amount of stuff.

Nice update! I've seen various locations, some I haven't been able to get into. I really suck at dinosaur encounters, I guess you can figure out what that translates into. I can manage to defend/run/attack my way around a few, but always get killed in the end  Few questions:
- Isn't a Centrosaurus a hervibore? Why does it sink its teeth into my foot?
- I got stuck between a T-Rex and an emergency bunker. I kept switching between those two, not sure if that was meant to happen?
- At the jeep, what is the difference between Inspect and Search? I take it inspect is checking if the car still works and search is check for items?

Thanks! Glad you are having fun.
Keep medkits in mind.

Mmm because it wants to fight you for whatever reason got into its brain, and grabbing your foot is the best way it has to keep you from running away. :yum:

Hmmm not familiar with this error. The T-Rex encounter works the same as various other dino encounters such as Dilophosaurus and Utah Raptor. What was the error like?
- At the jeep, what is the difference between Inspect and Search? I take it inspect is checking if the car still works and search is check for items?
Yes, you have it right. It was an early addition, guess I could have worded it better.
