Re: Drac Codes: Getting into C# programming again!

Didn't know you were in the Airforce, sounds cool. I started my coding adventure wanting to be open to learning various different languages; I think I technically still am, but after seeing how much there is to learn to use C#, I think I'll stick with it for a while. I do still think there might be ...

Re: New Weapon (GatlingGun)

This subject of moving vehicles has come so far since it started... Now we have a car and might have a full-on airplane. This sort of modding I find really neat; tiny demos of stuff. New Tres material doesn't always need to be a finished level.

Re: RETURN TO THE LOST WORLD

AIRPLANE Several hours later, Malcolm sat at the wheel of the Explorer, Levine sitting beside him. The garage door opened slowly. Malcolm turned to Levine. "How does it feel to be bringing one of your field vehicles to the field for a change?" "What? Oh. It's quite convenient. A treat...

Re: New Weapon (GatlingGun)

Wha huh that was great! How did you get it to follow ground level when there is a hill it goes up along? I really liked the controls on this one... I felt less uh finicky? flustered? by the controls this time. I think maybe it was the use of a steering wheel, very immediate eye feedback as to the cu...

Re: Kojima: A Thriller

Love the environmental description. IJ goodness, preferably b96 terrain textures....... Nice Ornitho. Eventually Reyes did reach the top. Slightly jarring alteration of tense, with the word "did". ...Love the animal valley scene. More than one way to bring PL up the well. Didn't see a Ceno...

Re: Kojima: A Thriller

That's actually meant to be a thought by Reyes. I just forgot to put it in italics when copying and pasting the text. Well it's your call. But in the copious amounts of Crichton I've been reading, he would word it as "was" there. Hmmm I'll find an example. Hmmm this one is from the chapte...

Re: RETURN TO THE LOST WORLD

Thanks. I feel pretty in love with the TLW novel characters. I've read the book so many times!

Re: Kojima: A Thriller

Christ, it’s humid. And it wasn’t even midday. Even under the cover of the trees, I see the Crichton style here. Love it. Tho, it should probably say: Christ, it was humid. The rock was stout enough where Reyes could easily climb over it. I think you mean "enough that"? Also I'm not sure ...

Re: New Weapon (GatlingGun)

Whoooaaa that looks promising. Er-hem. Next we need you to make a Humvee with forward clamps on magnets that collapse onto a dino, immobilizing it, and with guys on ropes on the sides which when impacting dino necks teleport the dinos away and replace them with CInstance versions, and dino-damage re...

Re: Kojima: A Thriller

You are going for novel length! Well that sounds great. Hmmm from what I've read, Crichton rewrites material he is working on as he goes. I personally don't like to do it, barring minor insertions and such. You bring up a point: we seem to be following very few characters so far. So maybe something ...

Drac Codes: Getting into C# programming again!

Hey all. I'll start by saying, that I took two years of programming in high school. Learning Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET informed my original entry into scripting in Trespasser. Strings, bools, floats, etc. But after those two years I never went back to C# or any other language. Recently I ...

Re: Kojima: A Thriller

Great set-up. Even more JP/Tres references, ruins on an island with later facilities built, over multiple generations. I find the same difficulty here in wonder which of Crichton's descriptions are for IRL and which are cleverly made up by him. Security cameras remind me of TLW novel. A slight feeli...

Re: RETURN TO THE LOST WORLD

FIELD SYSTEMS Levine walked up to the door of Mobile Field Systems, rang the buzzer. He waited to hear the ex-engineering-teacher's voice on the intercom, but within moments the door opened. Thorne stood in the doorway briefly looking Levine up and down. "Just like old times." "What? ...

Re: Kojima: A Thriller

Liking it still. I enjoyed the accidental paint moment. “A couple days ago, something was found on the beach here, right?” “Oh, yeah.” She turned, and pointed to a spot near the concrete pier. The fisherman had left by now. “They say the Americans took it,” she said. “They had barriers and soldiers ...
