Yep, I remembered your water in barrel idea.

Will tweak & exported light beam models later, once we know what our sunlight direction will be.

Well, I really like it. If your broken glass windows look half as good in game as they look in the render, it'll be good. I assume that the main hanger doors will be hydralically powered?

(direction of natural light, right? We don't have sunlight)

Yup, the natural light, sunlight same thing :) . Just need to make sure the light beams match the other model's lighting and terrain shadows.

* Oh, I don't think doors will be hydraulic or something. They should already be open I think (though if you can make them movable it would be nice). One door on each side does have a smaller door in it whch you should be able to open.

We'll figure something out.. .. you should be able to close then reopen those doors.

btw, do you think that you'd be able to supply me with the crater road? (could use present elevator complex position as guide since that's its new home). It'd be much easier for me to set the models up properly: moving things often create headaches, so I always like to setup in proper locale whenever possible.

*I noticed those smaller doors. One thing bugging me. If 'they' could have dragged a helicopter inside this hanger, stands to reason that that jeep shown in your artists concept should have a tow bracket on it, or perhaps there should be a little tractor around to do that job. Would the helicopter have landed on a platform with wheels as to enable it to be moved and storged inside the hanger?

Good question. Platform thing sounds interesting, as well as a small tractor.

Roads; I haven't exactly determined where exactly to put the buildings. I think we can only create the roads when we have the buildings in place.

However, you can create dummy objects and move them around a bit, see how they fit best.

Well, it doesn't need to be operational, just setup to look logical. The tractor could be broken down, weathered by time and um, well, the weather! Since there's really no reason to actually drag a helicopter inside, perhaps just creating the scene, the broken down equipment will actually create a better atmosphere. (should look cool)

Yeah, might be right. We may have to arrange our crater before the road can actually be made. Considering where the elevator complex was moved to, we may even find that turning the entire scene by a certain number of degrees may be necessary to make the area look correct, so creating a road now would actually tie your hands....

You know.. I should know this.. my dad took me to the NYPD Aviation base once (he's a detective) and I saw the helicopter hangers! I doubt the heli actually landed on a platform though.. I would think the wheels on the bottom were all that was needed to move it from one place to another, using the tractor/truck of course to pull it.

Certain helicopters have wheels as part of their landing struts; is that what you're referring to, Mike? If that were the case then you wouldn't really need a landing pad, just a wheeled, helicopter model and an attached assembly to be able to actually tow it.

Well yes, they do. I didn't mean they don't need a landing pad though, I simply meant the wheels may be all thats needed when towing a heli. Now, a heli WITHOUT wheels would have to be placed on a "platform with wheels," as you said before. Speaking of a landing pad.. is their one planned for the crater facility?

If you mean something obtrusive such as the landing platforms in
the demo, town or nem's little level, then no, not that I'm aware
of. Don't really see the need for one either, as I don't find them
particularly attractive as my use of the word 'obstrusive' might
have suggested.

*btw, is there any way to set the word wrap to a smaller width on
these posts? Their width is way too much and becomes annoying to read.

Remdul, is the flooring for the Hanger part of the model, or are we
going to be using a ground texture for the floor?
