Added textures to the tires, details to the tailgate, and the step on the side of the car, as well as the wheel wells.

Dude, that is one detailed car. I now have an even better reason to play this mod, just to see that car.

Never! :nerd:
When I said that, I meant it.

Did some work on the interior (This doesn't mean the exterior's done)

That's right purty work, hppav. One has to have quite a bit of
patience to attend to such fine detail --

Personally, I think it's because I've always loved that car, ever since I first watched the movie. (I own the toy :D ) Of course, it's only now that I have the skills to actually replicate it.

Decided to take a break from the car to start on the Visitor Center. I had a heck of a time fitting the interior into the exterior, but I think I got it.

OMG wow sorry I've missed this thread for a few days, WOW the explorer is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!!!!! Also uber-detailed... I am seriously afraid for the engine :? It has enough trouble with 10 of my fences, and this is concentrated in one small mesh so I have to wonder about the lagging affects... All in all I must say it looks extremely accurate, one of my few crits would be the front hood texture (logo is stretched - I could fix this if u like ;)), though actually I think the textures as a whole are amazing.. The other noteable thing is the smoothing errors up front - I assume you know how to fix this? (also remember that Trespasser bases smoothing groups on mesh elements and pays no attention to max's smooth groups).

Visitor's Center: Whoa this is coming along quite nicely. 8) A note, the roofs (at least the 2 side ones) are a tad too tall. Good job on fitting the interior inside, not easy I understand! ;)
Question, how many years is this again after the Incident? The exterior textures bug me a bit but they do look cool...

Very nicely done! The tour vehicle is especially pleasing to the eye :D

I'd love to see you try and recreate some of the other vehicles from the series. Maybe even some clean, undamaged Tres vehicles >_>

Ultimately, whether the model works in game or not, you've got one of the finest replications of the vehicle I've ever seen (not even sure if I've seen any others!). It must be very nice to look at that and know that your hard work is the only reason it exists!

Awesome job, again. Make good use of it ;)

Thanks, and yes, I have noticed that most other digital recreations of the car are alittle... thrown together. I'm surprised by my car though, I like my model. And I will make good use of it. It will appear a few times in my mod (with different numbers 4-7, 4 being heavily damaged and mud covered, I might have there be an 8 and a 9 undergoing modifications, as in missing seats, monitors, etc.)
though actually I think the textures as a whole are amazing..
It's amazing what Photoshop can do with a limit of 256 colors. I was shocked by how it preserved the texture detail. A lot better than the one on my test door I showed half a year ago. The wood grain and vinyl from the cars I got from elsewhere and edited and the lights I got from photographs.

Just had to join in, all of these models are great! I love them all, you're quite the artist when it comes to creating stuff.

will the models be down-sized and importable to Tres? an idea for all of this to reduce the vertics count would be to simplify objects like lights and other stuff into plain textures. also i don't know how Tres handles sprites but i'm sure there is some way of (for example) make the grids around the back lights "hovering" sprites.

also, out of curiosity, what programs are you using?

keep up the good work

3dsMax. I'm going to divide the models up just to keep them detailed.
