Pfff... the comics existed A REALLY LONG TIME before the game. I used to read them as a kid. Still have a few lying around...

Re: RaftPole
Huh. I never would have guessed, considering Turok was one of the quintessential games on N64. I guess they DID make some good tie-in games, after all. Would like to check out the comics one day, that would be quite interesting.Pfff... the comics existed A REALLY LONG TIME before the game. I used to read them as a kid. Re: RaftPole
Well, if JPDS~testing were real, you could always read the ones in the bathroom while taking a break..

The hole in the floor is also mentioned as having a tree in it in the 1997 walkthrough. So you may be wrong or both may have been in said hole. There's actually a hole in the ceiling that supports the tree being there. According to the walkthrough, the tree grew out of the hole in the ceiling and could be seen popping out of the roof. I actually think there might be a screenshot of this. I'll have a look.
Yep definitely a tree poking out of the hole in the roof. You can just see the leaves poking out. Granted, this is a Max image (you can tell by the shading and overall appearance) and may not reflect what they actually put in, as the version Tatu converted from a Max file completely lacks the tree. So either this was a much earlier max file or the one we got didn't have it included.
edit: Also just realized that the trees here are PV trees, not Jungle Trees like the versions we have. This may actually be another test level or a showcase level. Come to think of it, this is probably one of the best quality images we have.

Re: RaftPole
Yeah, that is some early 3ds Max render screen. I don't even think that is a screenshot from town but just one created to take pictures in. As you can see on the left is some stuff we don't know what it is.
One major thing is also the church, as that version with those windows is not included in any town version we have. Pretty sure they reduced the poly of it later on.
Also, Trespasser never had shadows being cast on other object

Re: RaftPole
I never said it was from the town. I was just pointing out that the Tree inside the Church thing was tested out early on. There's also evidence that the idea was at least considered all the way up to the final as the hole in the ceiling remains.

Yes, Acclaim bought Valiant Comics, who owned the rights at the time, so they could use the companies IPs for games. This video should inform you of the details. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I-zl09tlr0TheIdiot wrote:Oh, really? Did the comics come before the game?
