E3_Anne rigged for demo/retail engine

Post by Rebel »

I converted Old Anne for use in either the demo or retail engine. There
were only 3 $models available with old anne, and noting that I don't have
max to edit and recreate the missing models, I made due with the ones
available. She can pick up all pistols, rocks, the spaz, toxic rifle and a few
others and it looks pretty good, but she had no model for pointing at a
keypad (I simply used the $copy of her natural hand pose). I think I used
the $AnneFlower-00 for keycard pickup.

She doesn't look bad, but I think I miss my rack. :D

*The zip is just a new level with just old anne and a few guns I imported
for testing purposes -

Nice. Care to rig the black shirt version of her (TestScene) and the Beta (build 96) Anne so we finally have those rigged?

I actually don't have either of those builds, tatu. The only reason I had access to the
old anne above was because of you releasing the tresed view only versions of the levels
you did a week or so ago.

My connection really sucks. If you want to zip up those other Anne models, I'll give
them a look when I get the chance. Black shirt version sounds cool. I thought Slugger
mailed me a copy of the Beta 96, but I can't find the damn thing -

The Build 96 version of Anne works totally fine in the retail engine, ATX and CE from my experience. Is she missing some $ models or something? I know she can't point but that's about it...

Righto. Beta Girl just needed some scripting additions to avoid a crash
if an int_substitute was called and didn't exist. Below, are the zips for
both Annes (player model only). I actually like the beta 96 anne better
than the retail.

(black_shirt anne is the cool_anne zip)

Awesome work, Reb! Black shirt Anne is nice due to being a full torso w/both arms...

Oh, fancy looking!

Rebel, if you want me to send you copies of the E3 and PC Gamer disc rips, let me know. I'll be back in the states within the week so I can mail stuff out then.

You da man, Slugger. I sent you a pm. ;)

And that's the one that's kicking my ass, Drac. I thought I had it, but I'm still not satisfied.
I asked machf to take a stab at it, and I know you've rigged new players before, so maybe
between the 3 of us, 1 of us will get it right. It's her arm length that seems to be incorrect.

@Edit: Black shirt anne added above. She looks about right now -

*I finally found the beta 96 cd Slugger sent me, but unfortunately, the freakin' thing gives me
that 'requires a pentium II processor error'. Apparently, my Pentium 4 CPU 2.00GHz doesn't cut
it. Meh -

Funny, I never had any problems running it in my Pentium 4 (2.8GHz, but I don't think that makes much of a difference).

I'll check into that. Thanks.

I have no explanation for that. Other than to say, that's weird.

Just to be clear, btw, I have never successfully rigged an animate, CAnimal or CPlayer. Thanks goes to machf for East Dock's Nedry.
