Trespasser article in "Maximum PC"-Mag from Jan 1999
I found this article published via Google Books from Maximum PC (01/1999) page 88-89. I hope it's a new one as I can't find it on the forum.

Furthermore, is somebody here archiving all the articles found on the internet via downloading or screenshots? There are mostly direct links posted on the forum which most likely will disappear eventually.

Wow, a review from that time that praises the things Tres does right while also detailing the things it does wrong. That's a rare one, usually they just bash every last little thing.
I did like the comment about 20fps Still true today under hardware acceleration with actual objects in the level. And the reference to the 30,000 trees comment (it was actually 40,000 in the original article) made me laugh.
But that's a good question, I don't know if anyone is saving these articles. We might have to get someone on that...
Oh and welcome to TresCom!

If you want to browse it in English-Google, here's the link.

Good find though, and thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hmmm... I definitely remember seeing it before. I'm saving it, though.

machf, how do you save it and where do you store it? local on your pc or somewhere at trescom?machf wrote:Hmmm... I definitely remember seeing it before. I'm saving it, though.
I'm just beeing interested in whether there's a structured and central method to backup web sources or it just happens occasionally

Re: Trespasser article in "Maximum PC"-Mag from Jan 1999
Hmm, it seems that it streams a large JPG image of the page you are viewing, so if you go to the pages you want to save in Firefox, having those two pages viewed at the same time, and right click -> View Page Info -> Media and click through the images you'll find the pages there and you are able to save them with Save As...
EDIT: Here's the pages directly, click to make them bigger.

Re: Trespasser article in "Maximum PC"-Mag from Jan 1999
Okay, nice to see that filesaving works
But besides a technical description on how to save a specific file (to be safe, I would print it with some pdf creation software)
I'm more interested on how you guys take care of that old stuff not getting lost some day. As images are kept by trescom itself in the gallery I was wondering where all the linked articles rest to eventually read them again in some years, maybe.
Is there a place on the site for that which I didn't find?

sadly, something went wrong with the link
Re: Trespasser article in "Maximum PC"-Mag from Jan 1999
Yes, can you post the right link? It looks like you copied the text instead of the link itself, and it was partially replaced with "..."
I'd like to find a higher-res version of that picture.
