Re: Slender Park: the Slender Recreation
Thanks for all the kind words!
Hppav, thanks for putting it there! Also, I can't help but point out that you put, "Steps into Trespassing," and not, "Steps To Trespassing." Although the technical name for the site is, "Steps For Trespassing," because I had forgot myself at the time and just put something in. I'd still rather have it say,"Steps To Trespassing," if you don't mind.
Hope to get into design the eight areas and the objects (I already know what objects I'm using), and then get the trigger to end the game. Maybe something too, that'd be easy.
My main concern, again, is the Fog. I have the exact same properties as "NightMode" (my modified nightmode actually), however they look nothing alike.
Nightmode on:
Nightmode off, but the fog is the same settings as nightmode:
The FogNear, FogFar, FogPower, and Fog Half values are all the same. It might be that there's some other value I'm missing, I'll have to look in the T-Script reference. . .

I would help you with your fog problem but I haven't had any experience in that. All I've ever done with fog is change the color once in a test scene to a dark blue. The first time I attempted to remake the town I was wanting to do it as a night level so I wanted the fog to have a blueish color to match the blueish lighting in the movie... Of course the recent trilogy pack seems to have gotten rid of most of the blue from the scene

Concerning the fog, the only value that I don't have changed that's in NIghtMode is the Ambient Light, the default is 0.2, and Nightmode's is like .001 something. That's probably what it is, too lazy now to get the trigger in.
Today I imported most of the assets to making the 8 locations, didn't get them all done though. However I very much like the change in look in the environment as I went on.
More images. They're directly from TresEd this time, I find the quality of rendering in Software mode lacking. And now in hardware mode it seems that nearly every texture is blurry, but that's not much a problem because I wanted to use software anyways.
And now, I realize I have not had any popcorn today, so I shall go watch ze busters de myths. . .

Re: Slender Park: the Slender Recreation
Software mode isn't recommended. As for the textures, try setting the Max Recommended Tex Dim value to 256 (in the .ini file if you're using the demo engine, or in the registry if the retail engine), and Z Buffer Bitdepth to 32 (those values are in decimal, in hex they would be 0x100 and 0x20, respectively).awesome24712 wrote:And now in hardware mode it seems that nearly every texture is blurry, but that's not much a problem because I wanted to use software anyways.

I forgot about that. I had it set to 256x256 earlier, not sure how it got sent to 64x64.machf wrote:Software mode isn't recommended. Re: Slender Park: the Slender Recreation
All right, now I'm fully satisfied with the environment, I made the locations for all 8 eggs, and put the eggs there. I finished all of the rock placement along the edge of the playing area, and I also put in LOTS of grass and ferns. Take a look.
TresEd:
In-Game:
The game can handle so many objects at close-range because it's rendering hardly any objects far away, which will be okay for a heavily-fogged level such as this.
Now I'm considering some of the sounds. . .

Thanks!
The triggers for collecting the eight pages and the behavior of the raptor are going to be a nightmare. . . I guess that's why they call it slender.

Running into problems when converting it to an smk, though. I even tried to do it on a 32-bit machine. I think now it's a problem with the input .avi

Re: Slender Park: the Slender Recreation
Not sure if you use a trigger to change the fog, or if you're using the ATX .ini file. But if you are using a trigger in the level to change it, be sure that ATX doesn't use it's own settings cause that will overwrite every fog triggers in every level, if you are having problem the trigger doesn't does what you want.

Re: Slender Park: the Slender Recreation
For now I'm using triggers for the fog. They're just easier in the long run, because if I just used ATX then it would be a complicated sequence of CMagnets, Partial Transparent 24-bit, always facing textures, and the same amount of triggers. If I can't use normal triggers for the fog setting then I will use ATX.tatu wrote:Not sure if you use a trigger to change the fog, or if you're using the ATX .ini file. And I got the movie as an smk, plays great. Also got menu music.

I can help import paper sheets from Slender through GeomAdd, if you want to use those.
