Fukushima one year on- inspiration

Hi guys, just came across some images of what Fukushima looks like a year after the Tsunami. Thought it might give some people here who are making models of the 'forgotten' island in Tresspasser some inspiration.

Give it more time.. I doubt anyone's going to be in that area for a while... They expect the cleanup and removal of nuclear materials to take 40 years. It's not as bad as Chernobyl because they still have the inner containment units intact, the roofs were only blown off by excess hydrogen buildup from the water boiling. At least that's what TEPCO's been saying, it may take longer for all I know. They've got a new outer structure on Reactor 1 and have taken down a lot of the upper portion of Reactor 4 and have begun removing fuel from that reactor's fuel storage facility.

I've been keeping track of this for a while. They had to remove a huge part of Reactor 4's building because it was starting to tip over and if it did that all the fuel rods in the storage facility would be dumped into the open and that would be a serious problem. They have it stabilized and believe there's no threat of it falling over in an earthquake. The other three reactors suffered partial meltdowns and some of the nuclear rods are currently melted down on the bottom of the reactor chambers. It'll be years before we know the full impact of the radiation release at Fukushima.

I don't think they plan on reducing the exclusion zone anytime soon. There's a lot of small towns in that area that have been empty since the tsunami. A few people refused to leave the zone though and are still out there.
