Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
You wouldn't really need to add the demo. It has only sounds from the retail TPA, just the ordering might be different (and tehre are fewer)

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
It's the fact that there are fewer which makes it easier...

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
Hmmmm... Thankies - Could you put up the latest version in .TXT format?
PS: Why are there SoundMaterials files for Beta96 but not "Tres"?

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
No, export it yourself if you want... I'm only releasing spreadsheet versions now, for quite some time.Draconisaurus wrote:Hmmmm... Thankies - Could you put up the latest version in .TXT format?
Because I haven't done them, as I haven't installed the Retail version on this notebook... and I already had the SoundMaterials listing for the Retail inside the TPA sound names listing, anyway.PS: Why are there SoundMaterials files for Beta96 but not "Tres"?

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
Hey, how do we know that the demo tpa dosen't hide some we haven't found? I think we should make one, just in case. Might help with the other once we haven't find out.RexHunter99 wrote:It has only sounds from the retail TPA, just the ordering might be different (and tehre are fewer)

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
Success! I just found another one:
What's the big deal, you say? Well, this is the first one I manage to identify corresponding to bullet hits. Now that I know what they look like, I'll be able to easily find the names of the rest.
EDIT: in fact, I just found two more:
No luck with the "big ones" yet, though... (#454-456)

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
It was actually "Employee baseball diamond in the InGen Town," btw.
Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
There's an invalid soundmaterial named "Wood Bat" in the Beta, but nothing similar in the Effects file. And I've also tried variants of "Hockey Stick", for example.

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
Hey so.. I'm looking in your release of TresTPAs.xls. The Foley Table seems really fraked up. While the text file lists block 0 to 2597, the xls starts at 748, counts up, and then after 787, it starts skipping around everywhere: 826, 867, 910, 953, 985, .... keeps skipping around until ending with 2500 and 2562. Wtf?
Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
Oh, just unhide those rows. I applied a filter to search for specific entries and left it when I uploaded it, that's all...

Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
Haha.. I can't figure out how to remove all filters, so I made a filter that is "Is greater than 0 Or equal to 0"
Re: Sound names from the .tpa files
Speaking of the .tpa names... I found out more Ambient sounds over the past days. In the past I had tried the term "klaxon" for these two, with either a space or a dash before the "01". It turned out there were no spaces or dashes. Duh!
Now with "GATE KLAXON" identified for those two, the next one should be something similar. And guess what:
A freaking typo! Looks like there are several throughout the listings, after all.
Also, knowing that there were no dashes or spaces, trying the other three sounds was now simpler:
I had previously tried "RAPTOR ALARM 01", "DINOSAUR ALARM 01" and possibly even "INTRUDER ALARM 01", but again, didn't consider NOT leaving anything before the "01" part...
Now, for #124 I had tried before "SPEC-RADIO STATIC" and "SPEC-TRANSMITTER STATIC", but it wasn't. However, it turned out the hash value for "SPEC-RADIO STATIC" actually matched #121:
Doesn't sound too much like radio static to me, but...
That still left #124, which turned out to be:
As for #115:
Yep, another freaking typo, I *had* tried "spec-fluorescent light" some time in the past...
That leaves 6 to go. Let's see if I can find them...
