Mountain Valley

Post by Draconisaurus »

Hello all! This is a level I put together over the Winter. Waited to release it until people had a chance to play my other level releases. This one is a very classic Trespasser mod, with a few non-native models as you'll see, but there are several new audio files and a fairly non-linear level progression with puzzles to solve at various points. I thought it was a nice departure from the faster, less-complicated levels I tend to release. Have fun!

I just downloaded it myself. To freakin' tired to play it today, but will check it out either tomorrow or Friday. Everyone has so much crap on their minds these days it's hard to get any good sleep.

I like the sound of this! Will give this a go after I finally get around to your previous desert level. :P

Well, I just started playing through it, without spewing details I'm looking around for a particular item (which I haven't found as of yet). That's ok though, I like puzzles and I haven't run across one that I haven't been able to solve yet. ;)
The level is reminiscent of the original levels and the one area you went about to recreate seems a bit of a better fit than the retail's location.

I have to do some emergency repair work tomorrow (that's all we're allowed to do workwise), but I'll pick back up on this over the weekend.

Sweet! That's what I was going for. Hmm not sure which recreation you're referring to.

re-creation. I was referring to Kathy's Beach area in the retail, Drac. I'm also happy to see someone finally made a model more fitting for Anne's voice over that wasn't used in the retail. (we used it in the trescom level but the model was a simple one (and I don't think anyone ever found it)).

Aha yes. I liked that area. Unless I'm mistaken it was TI who modeled that one and released it publically, years ago.

Another really cool map Draconisaurus! Lots of nice content.

I have finished the level but I never used the item in the chair on the beach, what is it used for?

Also i did run into a glitch with the wind-turbine, it started to spin off axis and collide. (See picture)

Thanks mate! Glad ya liked it.

That doll is an easter egg / melee-weapon. You can give raptors a pretty good beat-down, with it. Aaaand that turbine glitch is an error, but inherent to Tres's physics engine, and so was left in. As I understand, this error would also appear in the level where I got the script from, TC Act 1, if you stood there and watched it long enough. Since this kind of error happens everywhere in Trespasser, even retail, I figured it was a basic part of the experience. :statue:

Haha. That's Harold Greenwood's treehouse. I thought it was pretty neat to make it out of existing assets..

Ya, I figured that one out (just listening to the voice-overs). And yup, it was a pretty neat idea (I liked it). You did a good job on the level itself. I enjoyed it. ;)
