How to import TPMs to Max without smoothing errors?

Post by TheIdiot »

I want to import Retail TPMs into Max, edit them, then export them without the lighting (smoothing) getting completely messed up and looking like trash. I've found bits and pieces of information on how to do this, but have never really been able to get models imported -> exported without the smoothing getting messed-up. So if I want to edit Tres models, I typically have to recreate them from scratch with is very time-consuming and is holding back the completion of Beach-HD. Anyone know how to do this successfully? A quick tutorial would be very appreciated. :)
