So without going through a lot of importing and exporting, that idea will not work.. it will be wayyyyy to complicated and take too much time.

You mean, by "that idea", the goal of recreating the levels according to original ideas? Sounds a little over-simplified, and it is plenty doable, but does take time.
What exactly do you mean?

Well I mean look at s1n31's Trespassing mod. He's already gone through that effort and it didn't take him too long to import the models to CryEngine, the only problem is that it's a lot of tedious hard work.

Update on my status... I have ordered a new motherboard after finding several problems with the one I have.. I will also be using NVidia graphics with it, so when the upgrade is complete I will let everyone here know whats going on then.

I hope it will.. over some time, I am planning on adding more memory and a better graphics card to the system as well.. so maybe it will make doing some tedious work easier

Hello.. back again.. working out on putting stuff back in the computer but a quick glance at tresed and guiapp they both seem to be working just fine now with the new motherboard and video. I will resume work shortly on what I had left off.

Sweet. Any chance you'll have a PH contest entry ready by the end of the month?

Actually I am working on one.. just have to take some time about it.. this new system is running a bit different than I am used to with windows 10 running well, some of the other programs are still giving me a bit of grief

EDIT : I got tresed working mostly.. have a couple of glitches I am working out..but guiapp is not even starting.. it seems to be doing nothing at all.. is there a specific way I need to set it? ie- compatability mode windows 98 or reduced color or anything like that?

I am currently working on learning some new things in tresed seems I didn't know quite a bit of what it can do. I will be working with various files and altering some levels to learn how things work. I will keep an eye for any tutorials I see here in the forums.. any other info on tresed would be appreciated.

Starting by modifying other levels is one of my base recommendations for new modders - keep it up. 8)
