Weather!

Post by zapmadrigal »

I'd love to see a change in the weather from a slightly foggy day.

Some heavy fog so you can only see about 10 feet all around you would be scary as would night time and darkness.

I would imagine rain to be nearly impossible but if it was feasible it would be a great addition.

Dense fog is easily done by altering the trigger in basement. Hell, you could make it so foggy, Anne wouldn't be able to see her breasts. And that ain't no small task, let me tell ya!

Rain's been mentioned, not sure if it can be done or not. Though, I still recall someone finding a 'rain' texture somewhere in one of the level's texture files.

Thanks Rebel! :) I´ve spend hours trying to make better fog to my level without succes.

About that rain... hmmm... maybe we could clue the rain animation in front of annes "face" and with right rainy ambient it would look like it´s rainy weather.

You could try something like that, perhaps with scripting such as;
bool AlwaysFace = true

The animated (it'd have to be) rain texture would always stay in frontview, but I personally think that any type of trickery like this would lack the depth and hence; not appear very realistic.

Trig_BEStart_Fog-00
Trig_JRStart_Fog-00

and so on....

These start triggers are generally located at 0,0,0 coordinates.
