I noticed a lot of topics on cryengine remakes of trespasser was wondering if anyone had considered a Unity engine remake?,since its free and very easy to use.I played around with the idea of making a JP game myself a few months ago but the main problem was Dinosaurs (getting the AI,animations).Heres a short clip of a test I build of the JP gates, its a little dark and very simple (only took an hour) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koI_rkS4vbY
Be interested to hear if anyone has any experience with character AI and animation in Unity or knows of a prefab set for the program

thanks

Still thinking about it for sure, its mostly finding the spare time.Sadly my computer wont cryengine very well so wouldn't be able to use that,I did see some downloads of Jurassic park dino models on a website today though,im guessing they came from one of the later games.

Thought I'd post some quick images of tests I worked on,just some quick fence and box models I built.Hopefully if I get time I can return to this project. The terrain was just done very quickly, the main drawback has been finding good quality trees/plants (cryengine doesn't run well on my laptop).

As far as test images go -- not bad at all; I like it a lot. :)

Some more experiments, this time for terrain.Unity engine cant handle nearly the level of Cryengine so thought I would experiment early on and see the limitations, tried using L3DT and Worldmachine to create the terrain.I used s13n1's height-map from the forums for this so all credit to him for the map.If I can get time to really go for this project I think instead of remaking it will be more inspired by/re-envisioned,I don't have the in depth knowledge of the game or the books to know all the details of the maps/design etc and would probably end up building my own terrain (with the mountain and some other elements of the original).

Initially its probably going to be just an explorable open environment,if that works and looks good enough then I will try and get the dino AI into it.Its pretty disappointing that my computer cant handle cry engine well so graphically I'm going to be limited but the good news is I work fast modelling.

Any Unity engine users might want to check out Unity forums, found a artist currently working on a prefab set of characters for the engine. No word on price yet but they look very well done and would be great for putting into a JP themed game.link to the forum with more images- http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/121610 ... interested

Nice work man! Its a shame CryEngine doesn't run well on your machine cause you could do a lot more with it.
Keep it up!

thanks for comments, added some more minor props today.mostly using temp textures and just getting models done and playing with layouts, might have shrink my map size sadly as its causing so problems and need to eventually build my own trees (the unity basic ones don't look good at all).Still have to paint the terrain also.
