Heavily updated Easter Eggs / 'Did you know?' section

Post by Hilwo »

Hey everyone,

I wanted to let you guys know that for the past two weeks, I’ve been working hard on a heavily updated easter eggs list, with a lot of help from Tatu. I also want you all to know that I’m not taking any credit for any of them. Basicly, I didn’t acquire any discipline to attain it. I read what others have done and took the next step. I didn’t earn the knowledge for myself so therefore I don’t take any responsibility for it :p

For now, I’m hosting them on my own server. I want everyone to have the opportunity to correct me, add information or to ask me to add credit. It was enough work (if you can call having this much fun ‘work’) to compile all the eggs, coordinates and screenshots that I didn’t feel like researching who had found each of them. For all the ones we are sure of who discovered them, I will be more than happy to add credit. Also, personally I thought it’d be best to just call it ‘did you know?’, as it’s not just easter eggs, but also bugs, glitches, secrets, trivia etc.

Without further ado, here’s the link to the temporary location of the ‘did you know’:

Thanks to Tatu and Nem for their help and feedback, and of course to everyone who found each of them. Enjoy! :)

(what makairu said) - this is a really cool list, and as well, there are some things in there I just had no idea about.

Just a few small typos :P

Under the Lab, the "Quake Symbol" (bottom of the page) bit reads:
"..it can be used as a powerful melee weapon due to the incredibly amount of damage it does - even..."
which should read "..due to the incredible amount of damage.." ;)

In the Summit, the first item (desert eagle at bottom of elevator) reads:

"..as a trigger will kill Anne when trying to descent back down.."
which should read "..Anne when trying to descend back down.."

Otherwise, it's awesome! :D
And this image made me laugh. :P

I read through everything and I didn't see any others, but I might have missed some. Not like they're a huge problem anyway. Glad I could help. :)

Great guide! :) There were a few things in there I had not known before.

A correction on your Ascent 1 page with regards to the description for the Lindstradt rifle - it is possible to kill at the Trespasser tyrannosaurs without cheats, as described in this thread.

I have been thinking about it, but I'm not sure yet. Gonna take a
break first, as the next Fallout New Vegas DLC is released today :)

Hey thanks, that's very interesting - I'll look into it! :) For now I'll
correct it by removing that sentence.

Great job, hilwo! I love sites like this! It harkens back to the "off the path" days, where one didn't have a Tres Ed or anything like that. I'm sure this will end up being a valuable and fun source for fans. One of those things that should have been made long ago. :D

Reading about all the misplaced voiceovers, I'm wonderingn, how hard would it be for the comunity to release fixed levels?

Most of the stuff in that site should be added to the game propperly.

Didn't the big patch correct a lot of misplaced items that were floating above the terrain? Did this also correct some of those floating voice overs and lower them to a reasonable height?

Thanks Scal! :)

About the voiceovers, I'm not sure. If the patch fixes them, maybe they should be removed
from this article. That, or I could just add the info that the patch fixes it.

What I have seen so far, the patch haven't fixed any voiceovers. Have talking with Hilwo and I'm planning on doing an article like this but about the changes the patch does to the levels. Going to check everything and if there is just a few fixed that are something you notice, and a worth mention, maybe it's best to put it in the same article Hilwo have done here. For example, if a tree have been height fix, it's not worth writing about other than minor floting fixed, but have something been moved a bit, then it's worth mention. Might actually fit into Hilwos article.

It's a little dissapointing that none of the voiceovers/triggers seem to be fixed with the patch.
Still, I'm very interested in whatever changes you find after applying the big patch, Tatu :)
