New html retail & beta voiceover lists for TresCom.org

Post by Hilwo »

Hey guys,

With the leak of the beta a little while ago, my interest in Trespasser returned.
I became interested in both upgrading my old voiceover list and also in making
a new beta voiceover list. I know such lists have been made by Draco and Machf
(and maybe others?), but I wanted to make html versions, like the first one I
made for TresCom.

I've had quite a lot of fun going through all the retail and beta voiceovers, and
I learned lots of new stuff that most of you have probably already known for
years :p

These list could not have been made without Draco's beta voiceover list and
Machf's Excel voiceover lists. I used these to eliminate hopefully all remaining
spelling errors and to add all the actual names of the voiceovers. So thanks
you guys ;) And sorry if I haven't mentioned others who helped work on the
above mentioned lists.

The new lists feature:

1. Block number
2. Voiceover name
3. By who (Hammond, Anne or other)
4. Voiceover
5. Level in which voiceover is used

The "new" beta voiceovers not found in the retail stream.tpa are marked
green/bold so they are easy to spot.

Some voiceovers (or music) are used in more than one level. In that case
I just added the level in which I thought the voiceover fit best. For example,
there is a voiceover in Hammond's house about putting up the dish at the
summit. Since this voiceover is about the summit and also used in that
level, it's the one I went with. The main reason I added the levels to the
list was just so people could get a quick look if the voiceover is used in
any level or not.

Well, here are the lists:

EDIT 3/1/2012 (UPDATED LINKS):

RETAIL -> http://www.trescom.org/index.php?page=r ... etail.html

BETA -> http://www.trescom.org/index.php?page=r ... _beta.html

If anyone finds any mistakes, please let me know and I'll fix them gladly.
Afterward, would someone please add them to TresCom.org? Thank you,
I hope these are of some use to level editors!

- Hilwo

PS a question about this voiceover -> block number 336. ANNEDINOSHOOT1 "I can do this."

According to all lists I've seen, voiceover ANNEDINOSHOOT1 is used in
the retail version. I know it's used in the demo, but I haven't been able to
find it in any level of the retail version. Does anyone know if it's actually
used or not? Thanks!

Awesome lists! Love them! One thing I noticed to fix on the beta list though. You have this line highlighted in green, as in I guess being exclusive to the beta like the other green ones. However, I am very sure this was in the retail, too:

"The Raptor took shape inside its egg and I watched it on the ultrasound monitor. It looked like a ghost, or a puff of smoke."

I remember it in Jurassic Time, the original version. :D

Yeah that would be this one: "Dinosaur park... what a great idea."

I love how they didn't add this when Anne would kill a dinosaur, but that she would just say it out loud when thinking to herself :)

Nice. One comment, the "SPEC-TOUR GUIDE" voiceover is in the retail too, but it's inside Effects.tpa instead of Stream.tpa, I don't know how you're considering that...

And yes, "ANNEDINOSHOOT1" is used in the demo only. It's in the list because there was only one list before...

Yeah, I left that one out because it wasn't part of the stream.tpa.

That is one very friendly looking list, and that makes it easy access from anywhere as it's html now. Great work on this. :)

Gotta say, it looks pretty spiffy, well done. 8) I see it's set up as machf's TPA listings, in their actual order within the files. I personally think a list of the voiceovers by type ("VA", "ANNEGENERAL", "VH", "VC", etc.) is of more use to modders looking for voiceovers to use in their levels. It provides a sense of where to find certain kinds of voiceovers etc., and doesn't mix non-voiceovers found in Stream.tpa.

Oh and Nick, the voiceovers new to the beta were clearly outlined and discussed.. uhhh.. Crap, tatu! I think you forgot to move this thread from Tresgame! For some reason the forum is still up.. Anyway, you can see which ones are new here (the ones in italics):
http://www.tresgame.co.uk/phpBB3/viewto ... ?f=12&t=16
...along with analysis and theory on original uses for them.

Oh and I also appreciate the listing of where each VO was used. That would be even more handy if they were ordered by type.. ;)
Perhaps it wouldn't be too difficult to make alternate versions of each page with that sorting applied?

I suppose not, if it's of help to modders I'll be happy to make an alternate set of the voiceover lists with that sorting.
Still have them all fresh in my memory so I'll start on it as soon as possible :)

Ah, very nice, thanks Hilwo! They will definitely come in helpful sometime, good work. I quickly scanned through them and didn't find any mistakes, so that's good. :) I should bookmark useful Tres threads/pages....
