October's news seems to prove a few things about the beta discs we have:

10/11/98 - Build 116C is completed and sent for testing.
10/11/98 - Rumors that EA has a disc in their hands for approval appear on TresCentral
10/12/98 - Build 116D is completed and burnt onto a gold Master Disc.
10/13/98 - Trespasser is signed off by EA for pressing.

10/14/98 - Rich Wychoff declares "This week I'm beginning the Trespasser recovery process - yes, that's right, as far as I can tell we've shipped" in a guest editorial for LoonyGames.

AND

10/22/98 - OGR posts their initial impressions of a Silver Master copy of the game.

That means build 116C was the copy sent out to reviewers (Silver Master Disc) and build 116D was the actual Gold Master Disc. It is also interesting to note that Trespasser Central's intel was pretty good about EA having a copy of the game on 10/11/98.

Also note that many of the articles have been lost (especially AGN, Raptor's Den, and TresCentral. These dates come from other gaming sites)

Very interesting! I'm very intrigued about that "Trespasser II" video, even if it was a joke... Or maybe they were planning a sequel but because the game failed they decided to scrap it and say "No no no... It was... ahem... a... a joke, yeah..."

PS: I'm back! Bwahahaha!

Welcome back :P

And lol that's a cool timeline for comparison. Now you should put in there the various outrageous claims at the times they were said...

Very interesting. I wonder if I managed to find any of those when I was doing Trespasser web archaeology back then... some 5 years ago or so.
