Strange error, 100 MB of free disk space?
Hello,
I recently dug out my copy of Trespasser but am having trouble. I copied the disk to my computer and installed from there. I was able to play it a couple of times but suddenly it starts giving me this error:
"Trespasser Requires 100 MB of free disk space. Preass OK to exit the game."
It's installed on a drive with almost 25 GB of free space, so this is hardly true. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, with the ATX patch and without, all to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas? It's so strange that it worked fine and then suddenly decided it wasn't going to anymore.
Edit: Oops, forgot to say that this is on Windows XP, AMD Athlon 64 3400+, 1 GB or RAM, GeForce 6800 GT

Re: Strange error, 100 MB of free disk space?
I came upon the same error after I installed Trespasser Beta 96,
I just ran it on game on 'windows 98/me' comparability mode and that seemed to fix the error...
And sorry if this counts as Tread necromancy or whatever, Just wanted to help... I'm not very active on this forum... You guys are all way to smart I feel dumb Posting on this forum. lol

I think that your best bet with this is restarting, reinstalling, or as mentioned beforehand in this thread, actually free up some disk space.

It's a pretty silly bug... deleting something from the HD (even if it's only 1KB) often works.

Re: Strange error, 100 MB of free disk space?
If I remember right, isn't it possible to change the size of it in the registry?

You mean "SwapSpaceMb"?tatu wrote:If I remember right, isn't it possible to change the size of it in the registry?
But that's not really the problem, it's that Trespasser doesn't properly calculate the free space...
Try manually deleting the copied swap files, BTW (in the Trespasser folder, NOT the TresCD\data ones!).

Re: Strange error, 100 MB of free disk space?
This happened to me as well a few years ago when I had my XP...think it's time to write/update an existing FAQ?
Re: Strange error, 100 MB of free disk space?
I realized we also lack a detailed listing of the registry/tpass.ini entries...

Re: Strange error, 100 MB of free disk space?
I think we lack of those stuff. The problem I think is that there haven't been much interest in doing something. It's difficult to find someone who got time to write it down in one document too. But I would love to see that we start it sometime.

Don't worry, I'm already starting the registry/.ini document.
