Endgame Credits Scene

So first off, I'd like to propose that we do the ending credits of the game with overlay-text, instead of a cutscene, using a small level just for the credits. The music machf found, "MUSIC - SUMMIT VICTORY", can be played in the background. Potentially, we can try doing the credits with a bunch of scrolling textures, too, if we so choose... But anyway, the player will be both frozen in place and have the keyboard controls frozen, so all you're doing is just floating above this cool scene, watching the credits with the music. :) I bet the credits might get a bit long - we can try throwing some other music in there, too.

What I'd like to see in this mini-scene: Waterfall; super-dense foliage, since FPS will be almost a non-issue; modeled terrain (rather than Trespasser quads); maybe a flying creature of some kind (or two) in the background; some quiet herbivores walking around randomly; random ambient sounds; a light mist; a skybox texture with the sun & clouds at dawn (from one of my many photos) (maybe even turning into day as you watch, if that's manageable).

You must be able to end the endgame scene, it gets boring if you complete the game more than 1 time and have to watch it all over again?

Eh? Part of the point in doing it this way is so that it WON'T be boring, and a bit different each time due to the AI - but anyway, you can always exit to menu.. Or, hmm. The keyboard controls. Well I'll look into that when the time comes, BR allowed for a few different options with that in the ATX actiontype.

I still think it would be good to have the end movie of a helicopter picking you up....or a boat finding you at see or whatever depending on which way you use to get off the island. And then after that do what you are proposing maybe, if that's possible?

Lol, well yeah dude.. they are two separate things. Even in retail Trespasser, the "win" and "credits" cutscenes are two different things which play back-to-back. Depending on which level you end with, you'll get the heli-pickup or boat-at-sea ending, with something nice and epic, and THEN the credit scene loads.

And about the Heli that picks you up. Anne contacted the US Coast Guard not InGen, I know why that had the InGen Heli, but it should be a seaHawk or something like that (Unless it was actually InGen Disguised as the Coast Guard, knowing that someone was on the Island so they picked her up and halfway home tried to dump her in the ocean but Anne USING HER CHUCK NORRIS SKILLS overpowered them and drove the heli back to the mainland :P ).

Yeah it's a good point. JPDS had already made tentative plans for a coast-guard reskin of the JPOG heli.. I used to have high-res coast guard Augusta images, but I think I lost them a few reinstalls ago..

Oh wow dude, I want to man this post. I've been experimenting with credits for other things and I am getting the hang of combining music to get a good feel for the credits, I can also put together some plans for the level content... I feel like doing some stuff for this tonight...

Lol so yeah, lemme work some stuff up... I really have some ideas of stuff we can do since it's a perfect chance to show off Trespasser's true beauty without player interaction.

I thought it was the "US Navy Priority Channel" she called on, not the Coast Guard...

Goes to check the VO list...
A: Um… Hello? Hello? Anyone out there? I need help.

USN1: This is the United States Navy Priority Channel. Identify yourself or clear the air.

A: Ha! I mean yes! Yes I'm here. I'm on Site B.

USN1: Right, right. We get this a lot. Listen, please clear the channel or-

A: No I'm not kidding! I'm on Site B, I'm on the dinosaur preserve for god sake!

USN1: Be advised. We're triangulating your location… and that transmitting of this frequency is a violation of-

USN2: Ah sir, this IS coming from the top of Mt. Watson.

A: Ha!

USN1: Sorry ma'am, hold tight. Are you in any danger?

A: I'm fine, I'm fine. Just… get me out of here!

USN1: Hold your position ma'am. We've got people in the area. We're dispatching a helicopter to your current location.

A: Thank you. I mean… Roger that… over and out.

Your Right my bad but still it should apply that an InGen Heli should not pick-Up Anne but if this is a US Base wouldn't they still notify the coast guard or would they use a military Heli I think they would still use the coast guard.

It depends, coast guard aren't as fast as Navy are they? And American citizens get a lot of babying from their military and Navy when in danger :P (no offense, that doesn't mean you guys are all saps, it means that the military make it a priority to preserve their people)
I'd think the Coast Guard wouldn't risk it, I mean there's freaking dinosaurs there and they wouldn't be equipped to deal with an attack, where as the Navy would have weapons and could easily deal with a few raptors while Anne rushes to the open bay.

(But I agree... InGen shouldn't pick her up, then again I have a theory that the cutscene we see is not Anne escaping but Hammond leaving Site-B... then again there's no storm clouds in that cutscene >.< but it makes sense if it were indeed an InGen VIP)
