Once Windows Vista was released, several members have reported a mixed success rate running TresEd on Vista. Rebel has found a solution, which has solved the problem of TresEd crashing during a level save and when a dialog box is open.
Simply right-click on the TresEd program icon, and select "Properties." Under the "Compatibility" tab, enable "Run as Administrator," which can be found under the "Privilege Level" section. Setting the "Compatibility Mode" to "Windows 98 / Windows ME" is up to your discretion.
A safety protocol may be imposed upon non-administrator programs attempting to overwrite existing files, preventing the overwrite and forcing TresEd to crash. Allowing TresEd to run with administrator rights has remedied this problem on all computers that it was tested (at time of writing).
