Hi,
I can't figure this one out. When I play TC-Isle (both TC-I patches applied, game installed from harddrive with full patch and ATX 2.03), If I play in hardware mode, everything goes smooth. However, if I set the graphic driver to software, i got a "fatal error" crash. I believe this is due to the loading af a specific object or trigger, since it happens always in the same area, but farther if I set a minimal view distance, and earlier if I set it to max. I'm walking along the shore, I go past the eating kitties, and then the ground goes a bit higher and then it crashes to desktop (some time before reaching the plane). If I set the draw distance to minimal, I can reach a bit farther (a big tree (sequoia ?)), and then it crashes. I go farther using the hardware renderer, and then revert to software, the game crashes instantly.
The point is, I prefer playing the game in software mode (some people rather listen to LPs than CDs, man can you believe that ? ) because I don't like the blurry textures in D3D. However, I WILL play TC_Isle whatever setting I'll have to use. Still, if anyone has a solution, I'd be grateful !
Thanks !
weird error in TC_Isle (only in software mode)

I think it's a known TC Isle bug in software mode... no idea what's causing, the TC devs may answer that.
As for hardware mode, have you tried changing some parameters in the tpass.ini file? Here's mine if you want to compare;

Re: weird error in TC_Isle (only in software mode)
TC_Isle requires the game to be ran in hardware mode. This is because 24-bit textures are used in certain cases to make objects transparent.
The level crashes when you approach the downed bomber, right? It's the transparent windows in the cockpit, that's the problem. I think Rebel solved the problem by making the glass panes seperate objects.

You know if you would have made a search you would have gotten your answer without the need of making a new topic.
Here is where you could have found it:

Oh well no big deal, but try a search next time. (the button at the top of the screen: Search)
