Well, I can report that Trespasser is running fine on a Winodws 2000 Professional platform, with Service Pack 4 installed, no compatibity mode activated and loading the game from the "setup95.exe" file.*IT IS ALSO REPORTED THAT TRESPASSER MAY NOT RUN ON A WINDOW 2000 PROFESSIONAL PLATFORM. SINCE THIS IS NOT A CONSUMER BASED, GAMER PLATFORM, YOU MAY INDEED RUN INTO SOME DIFFICULTY.

Then the reporter had problems not with the OS, but with something else... Hardware?

I have been running under Win2000 SP4 on two machines and I actually depend on it to run the game with Ollydbg properly. It's the same as XP, only without the crap. SP4 probably makes the difference (don't have any earlier versions).

So far, I've been able to install Win2000 SP4 and run Tres successfully on:
IBM Thinkpad 600 233mhz laptop
AMD Thunderbird 1.4Ghz system
AMD Sempron 3300+ laptop (that only officially supports WinXP)
There's no "Compatibility Mode" as has XP. Hence I would say that it runs without problems at all, as long as you have SP4 ('without problems' meaning having as many or fewer problems as WinXP).

Oh, but there is a compatibility mode setting in Win2K SP4... not as well known as XP's, but there is one.
