Hi,
I just purchased a new computer for my son. Now Trespasser has diffuculty playing and will not play with sound. The computer is a Dell 2400. The game played perfectly on our old computer. Any help you could give would be great. P.S. I already checked the sound options to make sure everything was correctly selected.
No Sound on Trespasser

There seems to be 3 possibilities:
Current Video Drivers (Tres doesn't like 'em, try an older driver)
DX9 (I had to drop back to DX8)
Using the NTFS (file system) instead of FAT32
By default, WinXP uses NTFS, though it can be installed using the FAT32 file system (if chosen option during installation of XP)
You could also try to uninstall trespasser, then install it using Win95 compatibility mode. (Close window when auto-install attempts to run -- instead, right click on the setup.exe file. select preferences and choose compatibility, select win 95 from the drop down menu)

or try the following:
See: I know this trick from some other 'old' games. Sometimes it helps if you go to :
start/run and type in dxdiag.
a new window should pop up
now click on Sound and move the hardware-acceleration button all to the left. Now try restrating your Trespasser exe and see if it works. You might have to pull it all backup for other programs though ...
