The Li_other_tga file is a replacement screenload; don't worry about it if you can't locate it, doesn't matter.

tc.scn
tc-130.pid
tc-130.swp
tc.grf
tc.wtd

credits.txt
quik install.txt
instructions.txt
features.txt
li_other_0.tga

Got em all except li_other_0.tga

But cant I put them in the folder where the demo is do I ahve to use C: ???

Because I got all the files but cnt-shift-Q-W is not doing anything ?

Your menu cheat is;

shift+Ctrl+Q+W-W

HOld all four keys down together, then release the w only.

the scn.data path almost positively needs to be c drive. Again, you can either change the scn to reflect your drive Letter (e.g. I, or J, or whatever) in place of the c:\trespas\data to ?:\trespas\data

(you may get away without changing the drive letter; the engine may just assume local drive, and ignor the letter. So long as the remaining datapath is correct)

Or, you can go into the device manager of windows, double click on hard drive icon, select settings and manually change drive letter. However, certain setups don't allow this change. You're really better off just changing the tc.scn.

What's your drive letter?

I cant get that to work even in the retail game let alone this demo converted fan level @#*&%$@*#^!!!

What does it actually look like when the level skip is enabled ?
Do I need cnt+F11 1st ?
You say shift+Ctrl+Q+W-W the instructions say Ctrl+shift+Q+W-W ...

It is ...

Shift+Ctrl+Q+W-W

Thats how it works for me.

Are you sure you are at the propper start menu? I mean the one that comes up as soon as the start up video clip has finished.

Or perhaps your not holding the keys down long enough after you've released the W.

They're both the same, just the shift/ctrl keys are switched about.
This is the screen;

Play Demo
Load
Options
Exit

From here, depress and 'hold' those four above keys down. Quickly, release the 'W'.

The level load screen appears with a small window-type box, scroll bar n' all. Highlight the tc.scn file, then click ok.

Ok, I got it to load - thanks for being patirent with me. But...
All I get is a black screen with a white triangle in the upper left corner. reloading the level gets me the same thing.
What do you make of that ?

Again, probably an scn data path problem.

Let me ask;

The name of the folder containing the Trespasser Demo?

Location of this folder?

Your Drive Letter?

Are you playing the level inside the demo?

That won't do....

That pathway is so wrong, it's not even close. The trespass demo installs C:\trespass or in your case, it'd be D:\trespass. You must have moved this yourself, since that isn't the default directory.

Corrected, it'd be D:\trespas

You have to move the trespas demo folder to where it belongs, or it isn't going to work. I can't alter the scn file that much to match that pathway.

So, take the trespas folder out of the games/demo folder and place it in the main window, alongside of folders such as windows, program files, etc.

Afterwards, it should work, even without altering the scn again. Though if it doesn't, that C:\trespas line inside of the scn file, must be changed to; D:\trespas

So basically I have to rearrange my entire harddrive just to play 1 of 2 fan levels in existance....
That just plain blows!

so should the line in the "scn" file read:
D:\trespas\demo\data\tc.grf
or just
D:\trespas
?

I played TC in the Demo although I hadn't installed the Demo in the default directory and I didn't edit the TC.SCN file. I did copy some TPAs from the retail to the Demo data directory though (even so, some audios were missing, guess they're only available in the retail).

D:\trespas\data\tc.grf

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble, though if you had left the trespasser demo in its default position, it would have been simple. The datapaths provided were set up for simplicity since the demo's default locale is C:\trespass. It'd be very difficult to predict that a player would be moving these folders elsewhere.

Got it running now. All I did was rename the folder to D:\Trespas, did not touch the tc.scn file.

Now I just need to improve this ultra slow framerate.

Thanks everyone for the help !

Im sure Ill need more on other fan levels "when" they are finished.

Well, I'm glad you finally got it. Nice workaround --

Can't do much about the framerate, beyond playing in hardware mode and if necessary, turn down quality to mid-point and screen resolution to either 640x480 or 800x600. Unfortunately, the one item that we haven't conquered yet is the proper formatting of the scn files.

Hopefully, in the future that'll come too.

You ain´t seen nothing yet! Wait for my level, its kinda shorty but sure can get slow sometimes. I recommend AGP graphics card with 64mb memory. If you turn the quality setting lower that highest all the "magic" disappears :)

The TresCom Level runs wery good on my machine, so does the jungle.

BTW: why raptors sometimes run of the level if they hit someting?
