clamav virus detection

I've just gotta tell you how impressed I am with this virus detection program! There is one app I must run under Windows so I booted into XP home edition to run it. Things just didn't seem to be running right so I rebooted twice to try to make the problem go away but it came right back.

Then I got suspicious...

I then booted into Slackware and ran clamscan on my Windows partition at /dev/hda1. Sure enough, there was a virus there! Clamav detected it, and it didn't cost me a penny like with Norton, McAffee et al. If you have a Linux partition on your hard drive but mainly use Windows, clamav will save you a lot of headaches and money if you suspect your Windows has a virus. I highly recommend it! :)

Even if you don't have Linux installed, there's ClamWin:

I use AntiVir for my Windows XP:
