THE SCREENSHOTS IN THIS THREAD REPRESENT OLDER/OUTDATED VERSIONS OF RTJP. PLEASE REFER TO THIS THREAD FOR IMAGES OF THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE MOD:

Spoiler: show
This, as the name implies, is where members of the team (though most likely me) should post screens from now on of development, unless it's related to the topic, in which case you're free to post away there.

Finally, some images. I replaced almost all of the terrain textures, quite a few of them with edited versions of hppav's JPO textures and the remainder with brand new ones I made. It looks so much better, even makes it feel like a brand new game - even more importantly, it really feels like Jurassic Park now. Only problem is the palette number seems to be getting a bit high (53) and the level is becoming unstable. We'll be getting this fixed eventually, but in the meantime enjoy what I took in-game.

Ooh is that Visitor Center ever looking good...can't wait until it's 100% finished so I can show the interior.

Also made a little GIF image to show the lights on the fences flashing. Note that they actually have many more frames and do "fade" in and out, I just didn't want to take a ton of screens and then sort them properly. :P

Really cool!

53 isn't that much, depending on how much you plan to import. Anyway, Draco can give you advice or help you with a lot ;)

Thanks. :)
We've already discussed the palette thing, Draco says he can try and fix it, but it'll be time consuming. I also made a ton of new VC textures but importing them crashes the game outright. Hopefully once the SWP update is done it'll be more stable than ever with all the new textures.
Actually, tatu, you wouldn't happen to have any news/screenshots of Tres: Reloaded we could see..? I'm really looking forward to it, and I'd be glad to playtest it once you've got something ready. If you'd have me, of course. :P

I've been working on JR lately, and some on IT. BE and IT is mainly done, there isn't much left to do. Speak with Draco about it, it's fine by me, but he needs to have a say ;)

Thank you! Can't wait to give this a go. Draco..? :P

@screenshots: Looking good... however... I preferred the terrain textures you had before. :? Sam has admitted that textures are not as much his forte.

@Tres Reloaded: Hmmm TI, I can go ahead and let you playtest BE Reloaded. It's more or less finished and entirely playable.

I actually really disliked my textures, I felt they didn't feel enough like Jurassic Park. They were always intended as placeholders anyway. :? Hopefully you'll forgive this little change, it does look really good when you're actually playing. Especially in the jungle areas.

Double post! GAH! :P
So, basically Draco and I are having a behind-the-scenes debate about whether the new terrain textures are too washed-out or colorless, or don't fit what we see onscreen, so I figure it's probably going to help if we have other people's opinions as well. I was curious as to what everyone else thinks of the new textures versus the old ones (see the original RTJP thread)? Anyone want to give some us input on this? Do you prefer the old or the new? :)

Hmmm... can you show screenshots with the new and with the old textures, side by side?

I will tomorrow hopefully. Might be a while if not. I'm also unsure if I overrode the original files, but I might be able to create comparisons by using old images and taking new ones. :)

EDIT: Okay, here we go. Note that the screens with the old textures were earlier in development and the areas have probably changed, but you get the idea.

Well hey, I like the logo! A little more TLW-ish than I would have done myself but it is just too cool to let that get in the way. *Drac Stamp of Approval*

As for the screenshot - awesome! Now we know what goes in that room ;) Sam's work, right? (your caption was a little confusing) And I must warn you again about revealing too much.. It vamps from the passion of exploration when the mod is released.

The room itself is Sam's doing, but I made the table, chairs and screens. :D And don't worry! I've been cutting back on the screens for the past while.
