I jus found out that there is a free, open-source alternative to Sony Vegas, it's called Kdenlive. The only problem is it only for Linux or Mac. :(
Linux is free, so you could download one of the distributions and install a virtual machine to run the program.

Ooooo, good to know. Well, that means it will probably work on Chrome, so that's good news for the future. :yum:

Chrome Operating System. It's supposed to run Windows, Mac, and Linux apps, as I said here recently.. I plan to install it as soon as it's out some time next Summer (we hope).

And here's hoping that it supports Trespasser, TresEd, TPAAdd, TPAExt, GeomAdd, GeomExt, and all the other programs written specifically for usage on WIndows computers.

Indeed. :P We'll see how Tres-centric my time is at that point. Since it's supposed to be able to run Windows stuff (and I believe several of our apps can run on Linux..), I have good hopes.. And erm, they know very well that Vista is not liked for its incompatibility, so I'm willing to bet support for older Windows apps will be a high priority (including pre-XP).

A new Nature Watch I posted the other day:
Otter Spotting

There are a couple dozen of these guys living in the creek behind Walmart, along with some ducks and sewage. Turns out they may not be otters in fact, but nutrias ("coypu").. hard to tell.
