1978 - At 50 years old, John Hammond proposes to start International Genetics Bioengineering with Norman Atherton, who agreed to the partnership.

1978 - 1979 - John Hammond and Norman Atherton raise funding for InGen's ambitious genetic projects.

1980 - John Hammond leases Isla Sorna, an island in the Las Cinco Muertes island chain, from the Costa Rican Government. Construction crews build roads, a town, labs, and various other buildings as well as a mountaintop radio facility on the northern mountain, Mount Watson, formerly Punto Alto

1981 - John Hammond personally surveys Isla Sorna and the construction process on Isla Sorna. Construction begins in San Diego for the amphitheater.

1982 - John Hammond has a dream to build his park on a tropical island where the animals could be seen in recreated versions of their natural habitats. He leases Isla Nublar from the Costa Rican Government, an island only 80 miles from Isla Sorna. Construction halts on Jurassic Park San Diego.

1983 - Plans for Isla Nublar are drawn up. Initially including 50 miles of electrified fencing, a windmill plant, a geothermal plant, and a nuclear power plant. In the initial plan, all visitor structures were to be in the northern part of the island and in one single compound.

1983-1986 - John Hammond raises funding for the Isla Nublar project. During this time the designs are revised multiple times.

1986 - The incident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Soviet Union convinces John Hammond to scrap plans to build a nuclear power plant and opts instead for a hydroelectric plant and expanding the geothermal plant, wanting 100% clean energy so as to not harm the animals that will be on the island.

1987 - Construction begins on Isla Nublar. The first structure built is the Animal Control Compound on the western ridge, which contains a fully functional control room, which became the auxiliary control room after the activation of the main system in the Visitor Center.

1988 - A construction worker falls off the cliff while working on the Main Road along the crater chosen to be the location of the T-Rex paddock. He is killed instantly.

1989 - Road construction is completed and construction crews focus on building the 50 miles of perimeter fence and the support structures.

1990 - John Hammond lays the cornerstone for the Visitor Center, dedicating it to Norman Atherton. The fencing is finished so animal control officers begin moving animals to Nublar from Sorna via the SS Anne A and the SS Anne B.

1991 - The Velociraptors escape from their compound. Muldoon captures them and begins moving them to a temporary facility original designed to hold sick animals.

1992 - A velociraptor attacks and severely injures a construction worker, leading to the investors becoming nervous with the project. John Hammond agrees to let a team of five experts inspect the island. However, Dennis Nedry, the programmer of the island's elaborate software, has been paid off by Biosyn to steal embryos from the island. He shuts down the power and security and steals the embryos. He is attacked by a Dilophosaurus but manages to escape. He makes it to the dock but once he's there he realizes he doesn't have the can of embryos and is shot for his troubles. Another BioSyn agent on the island scolds the ship mate for his actions because it is apparent that Nedry had indeed stolen them at one point. He begins his search. The next day, the power and security is restored and the island is evacuated. InGen attempts to retake the island but fails to do so. The US Coast Guard sets up a perimeter around the island and the EPA begins to study the island. The US Government quarantines the SS Anne B on the island and InGen renames the SS Anne A to the SS Venture.

1993 - The US Coast Guard builds a base on Isla Nublar. On June 11, 1993, InGen evacuates Isla Sorna, releasing the animals into the wild as they leave. Four days later, Sorna is hit by a large hurricane, wiping the structures off the map. InGen's losses are too great for a return.

1995 - The US Coast Guard abandons Isla Nublar. Despite the wildlife, many urban explorers attempt to study the island's structures. They are typically killed before they can make it back off the island.

1996 - The events of JPO (See JPO Story Thread).

1996-1997 - Isla Nublar is apparently destroyed.

1997 - The events of The Lost World lead to the quarantine of Isla Sorna. The SS Venture is quarantined on a nearby island.

1998 - The events of Trespasser, and soon thereafter, the events of Resident Dino. BioSyn goes bankrupt.

1999-2001 - John Hammond becomes the first minister of the Church of Raptor Jesus, hell idk. Not much happened, save for a fake election.

2001 - Events of JP3 (followed by the events of 9/11, makes 2001 one heck of a year if you ask me).

More will be added to this as I decide on when to stick things. Note that the "15 years ago" line from TLW seems to indicate that 1982ish was when John Hammond had the dream for the Isla Nublar resort, not the dream for genetic cloning, which Tres seems to indicate happened when he was 50, which was 1978. (50 years struggle come to this. March 14, 1928 is his birthday, btw). That places the construction of JPSD between 1978-1982. The Newsletters indicate that the date of planned opening was June 11, 1993 and the Lost World website indicates that the abandonment of Isla Sorna occurred on that date in film canon. Thus the first movie cannot take place on that date (why abandon both islands on the same day, especially when Sorna was abandoned "after the accident in the park"?). Plus the slide shows in the dining room sequence show profit charts that indicate the first year of operations being 1993. If the movie took place on June 11, 1993, then the first year of operations would be 1994 (We're going to open next year, that is if the lawyers don't kill me first).

Cross canon stitching can be fun! I'm not taking the JPL method of "This doesn't fit at all so we are making different canons" deal, it's like the Christian churches. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church canon has 84 books, the Catholic Church has 73, and the Protestant denominations all have 66. And even beyond that there are dozens more books that were considered true scripture by the New Testament writers but were removed because the attributed authors couldn't possibly have written them (If we decided canon based on this idea now, then we wouldn't have an Old Testament or the Gospels). IMHO, having a single body of individuals not connected to the original creators of the works decide what is canon and what isn't is a travesty. No one except for the creators have the right to decide what is canon and what isn't. But that's beyond the point of this thread :P

*laughing ass off* Bit of an inspired alternate reality, there? ;P

:o That would explain some things XD

Jeeez, that must have been a multi-million dollar helicopter...

LMFAO!!! Now I think you're just testing to see if anyone is reading

Indeed.. o_o Heh, that's awesome since 2001 is actually the first year of the new millennium..

EDIT: Actually that's good. If apocalyptic events can experience that sort of delay, then maybe the cataclysmic events of 2012 won't happen until 2013 - meaning that I'll get to see the second installment of The Hobbit in theaters after all! :D

Maybe in later years, they just didn't have enough paper to make the bibles that big

lol, it is an attempt to tie in ED since I did do some work for it :P Thus it's part of the hppav canon.

lol, like how the Anne B looks like the Venture and why it's named the Anne B :P It is interesting that Anne is also the name of the character in Trespasser. I wonder if it's some kind of reference/homage to the novel? Especially considering the large number of references to it.

BioSyn drops the ball in "Resident Dino" :P

Also as a filler text :P Still can't think of anything that could have happened there.

I know. Dale Earnhardt also died that year too, lots of stuff happened then.

That might be true  [redacted]
But, hey, this is waaay off topic xD
