hppav's Weekly Update! 8-17-08

Well, this week was an interesting one. The final server in the Halo 3 ARG opened, I got my books for the new semester, a tornadic storm caused our basement to flood, and I had plenty of time to work on my projects!

There will be something new from me and my secret partner in crime for your playing pleasure in the near future. What it is, I'm not saying, but what I will say is that even though we haven't added any of the custom models yet (many from JPO), it looks absolutely awesome. Expect more info on that sometime soon.

Also in JPO news, I got several inorganic models done this week. Mostly just signs and road markers, a tunnel, some more fencing. But yeah, I'm hard at work to do this. Meanwhile my partner in crime is texturing my models and putting them in engine.

Wow! :o Great job!

Why are your updates seperated in diferent parts and in the smalltalk section? Sould they not be in one topic and in the level creation section?

Thank you! And to answer your question, I don't know. There's a decent amount of polygons here and I wouldn't want to break Trespasser's physics engine.

Thank you too!

And to answer your question, smalltalk seemed to be a better choice due to it's location on the board and these updates lack of actual level editing atm. And as for them being separate, it's easier to manage a new thread than an old thread, and since almost all of the Renders of the Week are accessible through my imageshack account, I see no need for one thread to showcase all my old stuff. In fact, I had a long thread that showed my old stuff, but of course people lost interest in that thread over time. New threads can lessen this.

Any updates containing any screen shots from in game will be posted in the level section you mentioned, as they do contain level editing, but likely there will also be a separate update for modeling/texturing in smalltalk, at least until all the modeling is done.
